The Mahumbwe tradition

Get muddy.
Build something.
Learn by doing.

Hands in the dirt, feet in the grass, imagination wide open. Sometimes the best learning happens with muddy hands and laughter.

Children playing outdoors with mud, water and sticks

The best classroom has no walls.

There is a Zimbabwean childhood tradition called Mahumbwe. Children gather outdoors and learn through nature, creativity, and togetherness. They build with what the earth gives them. They play freely, and in that freedom, they grow.

Nature Play & Little Builders brings this tradition to life at Mercy Nest. Your child will spend time outside, hands in the dirt, feet in the grass, imagination wide open.

No worksheets here.
No screens. Just open air.

Natural materials and the kind of play that children's bodies and minds are built for. This is learning the way it was always meant to be.
