Mercy Nest.
At Mercy Nest, your child is not one of many. They are one of a few, known by name, held with care, and given room to grow at their own pace. Our micro-childcare model means tiny group sizes, consistent caregivers, and the kind of attention that simply is not possible in larger settings.
This is not daycare on a conveyor belt. This is a nest. Warm, safe, and built around your child.

Finding the right care for your child can feel overwhelming. You want someone who will hold your child the way you would. You want a space that feels safe, not sterile. You want to drop off your little one without that knot in your stomach.

Many families have tried larger centers only to feel like a number. Others have searched for something more personal but did not know where to look. The truth is, quality infant and toddler care should feel like an extension of your own home.

We love that our size lets us notice them. In a group of three or four children, nothing gets missed. We see the spark in your child's eye when something clicks. We catch the wobble before the fall.
Our Mahumbwe tradition, rooted in Zimbabwean childhood play, brings nature, creativity, and teamwork into everyday learning. Children explore with their hands, their imaginations, and each other. It is how they were meant to grow.

Mercy Nest exists to provide a nurturing, relationship-centered environment where babies, toddlers, and young children are cared for with intention, compassion, and respect for their early development.
I believe that when we care for a child, we are caring for a whole family. My role is to walk beside you, not ahead of you.
Meet our Founder
Tetiwe Muronda, "Ms Tee"
Tetiwe Muronda, known to every child and family as "Ms Tee," did not stumble into childcare. She was called to it.
Her journey began in South Africa, where she worked in education under a remarkable leader who shaped her understanding of what children truly need. That foundation stayed with her, a belief that every child flourishes when they are met with patience, warmth, and respect.
When Ms Tee relocated to the United States, she continued her work in childcare right here in the Potomac, Maryland area. Over the years, she has built trusted relationships with more than 18 families who saw in her something rare: a caregiver who loves their children almost as fiercely as they do.
She became a certified Life Coach, deepening her ability to support not just children but entire families through the beautiful, messy, overwhelming journey of early parenthood.
Her philosophy is simple. She is here to complement your family, not replace it. Your values, your traditions, your way of loving your child, she honors all of it.
Every lesson learned, every bond formed, every quiet moment rocking a baby to sleep, it all led here. To a home that welcomes your child as one of its own.
